How can I calculate the mid-level date between a start and end date?

Assuming start date in cell A1 and end date in cell A2, use

=(A2-A1)/2+A1

With your dates in A1 and A2, try
=AVERAGE(A1:A2)

Good luck

Kathy,

Do you mean what the following does compute:

In C1 enter: =A1+(B1-A1)/2

where A! houses the start date, B1 the end date?

Date format C1.

Was slow on this. Somehow I like Ian's AVERAGE better than ours. What do you think?

I agree (sometimes I end up missing the obvious approach). That's the great thing about this board, the opportunity to see different approaches to the same problem.
