Date functions in Excel

I need to calculate the following:

Cell A1 = mm/dd/yyyy (a particular date)
Cell B1 = 90 (days)
Cell C1 = a formula that return a date = to mm/dd/yy + 90 days.

Also, any references to print and/or internet sites that handle date math in a non-programming context are also appreciated.

All you have to do is put this formula in C1:

=A1+B1

That is, unless the value in A1 is not recognized by Excel as a date. Is that value coming from another source where is may be formatted as text?
