Copying a column of dates to another workbook

Help! I'm trying to copy a column of dates from one Excel
workbook to another. The dates change by about 4 years in
the new workbook.

For example, I entered today's date, 8/20/99 in workbook A.
When I copied it to workbook B, the date shows as 8/21/03.
However, if I enter 8/20/99 in workbook B and copy it to A,
it displays as 8/19/95. What gives? Short of converting
each date to Text format, is there any way to copy dates
between workbooks and get the real date??

Linda
It sounds like workbookB is set on date 1904 date system
and workbook A is not.
Goto "Tools"
"Options"
Select the tab "Calculations"
and Deselect "1904" date system

Have you tried opening both workbooks, then hit Edit > Create Copy > to WorkBook B? Once you create the same dates in the same Columns, you can get rid of any data/formatting you don't wish to retain in the second Workbook worksheet.
Just an idea.
