changing dates

Hi, I currently have a spreadsheet that displays dates in mm/dd/yy format. I would like change it to display the day of the week also. For instance, change 04/02/01 to Monday Apr 2, 2001 or similar, as long as "Monday" or "Mon" is included in the date. Thanks for your help!

Hi Glenn try this. Select the cells you want to reformat and go to format/cells. Select custom format and put in this expression dddd mm-dd-yyyy
This will tell the computer to put the day of the week, then the month number, day number, then the four digit date. You can modify this to you need. If you want the full month displyed put mmmm etc.
