carriage return in the formula bar

Is it possible to do a carriage return in the formula bar.
for example.
if i have the following text: [terms, day 1: do this, day 2: do something else] in a cell is it possible to format it so that it looks like
terms,
day 1: do this
day 2: do something else

Try using [Alt] [Enter] when typing in the text. This should put in the carriage return for you.
