how to extract/filter certain rows to a different worksheet

I have tried, unsuccessfully to use the advance filter to accomplish this task. I have a spreadsheet to track action items for a project. I would to, in some simple way, be able to extract action items for a particular person to a separate worksheet in the workbook. If it is possible to do it with the advanced filter, I may be entering my criteria incorrectly. Any guidance/suggestions appreciated.

Short of writting some code to do this, you will need a two step process as Advanced Filter can only copy data to the Activesheet. Try this:

Use the Advanced filter to filter your list in place. Then push Ctrl+Shift+* (asterisk above 8) then Ctrl+C then paste in on your other sheet.
