How do I create a drop donw menu on a spreadsheet

I want to create a template, and instead of having the person key in information, I want to give them a drop down menu option. After it is created I want to password protect it.

Hi cris,
The easiest way would be to use data validation. Select data from the menu bar at the top of the screen, select validation. In the allow box, select "list" and make sure the "in-cell dropdown" box is checked. You can then use the reference box to reference it to somewhere on your sheet where the data is located, then lock those cells and protect the sheet.
