Data Consolidation

When using Data Consolidate function, if you check 'Create Links to Source Data' the destination sheet automatically inserts the source sheet name on the rows between the consolidated data. Any way to "turn this off". It also puts + symbols to the left of the column numbers.

If you don't want the links don't check the "Create
links to source data" check box on the Consolidate
dialog. The + symbols are a feature of the
Outline facility. For more on outlining see the
Excel Help topic for "outlines".

Congratulations! Looks like you've advanced
quite a bit since your last posting. I trust
that consolidation is a satisfactory solution to
your problem.

Well... Consolidation does work, but I need the links to be active. When I check to make them active, unwanted rows and columns are inserted into the destination worksheet (the consolidation "math" continues to work, but the source sheet names, etc. that are inserted along with the consolidated data mess up the format of the rest of the sheet).

Consider placing the consolidation on another sheet
or location on the existing sheet that doesn't
interfere. I trust that you understand that
you can collapse the outline created by the
linked consolidation so that only the summed
values and their labels are visible.
