Count entries that have been filtered

I have a column "State" with different U.S. States. I would like to count how many users are in CA. When I do an autofilter the row labels show the row number of each CA (so 2,3,5,9, etc). Anyway I can count the users in CA? Thanks!

=SUBTOTAL(3,reference)
