linking text in a chart to a cell in a worksheet

How do I link a text in a chart to a cell in a worksheet?
If I can do this then I wouldn't have to update both the worksheet and the chart. In effect, I would only have to update the linked cell in the worksheet.

To link a textbox to a cell just select the textbox then enter = into the formula bar then select the cell to link to.
