comparing datapoints in excel charts

Is there anyway I can use VB to look at the value of a
datapoint from a chart series. I then want to compare this
value with a value of another series datapoint to see if they cross.
Anyone have any ideas?

Aren't the data points entered on a worksheet?
Why wouldn't you make the comparison there?

they are in a work sheet, but dno't think I can do what I want from those numbers as I
wanted to change the colours of a datapoint in a series depending upon its value compared
to another series.
It is ok though as I have found away around it. Its not the most efficient way but it works
all the same.
