The Ghost of Macros Past

Hi,
Been puzzled this afternoon. Took my old, cumbersome ordering system apart today, starting almost from scratch. One macro which I completely rewrote is called UpdateAll, which I assigned to upper case U on keyboard. This was the same assignment I had for the old Update macro, which - along with almost everything else today - has been deleted. HOWEVER... When I try to run the macro using UCase U, I get strange results. When I run the macro by selectiong it and hitting run it works ok. I reassigned the macro shortcut to LCase u and, again, it worked ok. IT SEEMS like its running an old macro from an old workbook, somewhere, when I hit Ucase U, but none are open. How could I discover what it's doing? I tried stepping through the code several times, and it seems to behave itself when it's under scrutiny, like most of us, I guess.

I think it was Harold Hotelling who said "Dead investments, like dead men, should lie in their graves".

And from Goethe "The ghosts I called, I can't get rid of now".

And, paraphrasing Shakespeare (Mark Anthony) "So be it with macros"

Why not start anew and properly redo the whole thing?

I thnk that's a very good idea. I cannot think of an alternative. Since, clearly, as with Mark Twain, rumours of its deletion are highly exaggerated.
