I am totally stuck here, here's what's going on ...

I need to make a spread sheet that will have one cell to compute the other cells on its row.

For example,
I purchase a product for $20 (cell A1)
I sell It for $100 (cell B1) and
there are $20 in Fee's associated with the transaction (cell C1)

Now I want cell D1 to give me B1 - A1 - C1 but wait there's more I want that final number to be divided by 2!

So B1-A1-C1 = $60 so divide that by 2 = $30
So I want D1 to finally compute $30

Thank you So much for your time and trouble!!!!!

Try this...

=(B1-A1-C1)/2

ok, that was surprisingly painless and simple ... thanks!!!!
What you probably tried was:

=B1-A1-C1/2

Excel performs math operations in a particular order. This order is called precedence.

Division and multiplication have precedence over addition and subtraction.

In the above formula this is how the precedence works:

B1-A1 - C1/2

We can control the order of precedence by using parentheses.

=(B1-A1-C1)/2

Anything within the parentheses will have precedence and will be calculated first.

"I'm going to break my computer, please help."

I recommend a hammer.
I find that just showing the hammer (I keep a nice 5lb one handy) to my computer improves both its attitude and its performance.
