Hi,
I am trying to make a vlookup, but I have some IDs which can be distinguished by case,

i.e. "0033000000mnkCJ" refers to a different contact than "0033000000mnkCj"

so is there away to make this formula case sensitive?
=VLOOKUP(N2,$A$2:$J$17874,3,0)

Any help is much appreciated.

Excel Facts

Show numbers in thousands?
Use a custom number format of #,##0,K. Each comma after the final 0 will divide the displayed number by another thousand
There may be other ways, but only thing coming to mind is

=INDEX($C$2:$C$17874,MATCH(TRUE,ISNUMBER(FIND(N2,$C$2:$C$17874)),0))

Must be array confirmed with Shift Ctrl Enter, not tested with bulk data, excessive use may cause slow calculation.

note if N2 is empty then it will incorrectly return the first record in the list so you may want to test for that and blank the cell if needed.

Also a full match option...

Control+shift+enter, not just enter:

=INDEX($C$2:$C$17874,MATCH(TRUE,EXACT(N2,$A$2:$A$17874),0))
