Okay, I exported contacts from a CRM database. In one of the columns it reads

Phone No.:888-888-8888

When I go to any cells in this column all that appears in the formula bar above is Phone No.:

For some reason the number is not there, nor can I separate/isolate the actual number from the words Phone No.: so that I can remap the field to another CRM.

Excel Facts

What does custom number format of ;;; mean?
Three semi-colons will hide the value in the cell. Although most people use white font instead.
You sure the 888 yada yada number is not really in some cell to the right of the cell that contains "Phone No"?

Or maybe, the 888 thing is below the Phone No text, in that same cell, just wrapped on the next line in that cell but the row height is too low to see everything.

Otherwise, right click in that cell where you only see Phone No, left click on Format cells, go to the Number tab, click on the Custom item in the Category pane, and see if that cell has custom formatting of some kind.

Also, for that cell, it'd be interesting to know what the result of the LEN function would be, to evaluate how many characters it really has. Have you done that, if not go ahead and try it and see what gets returned for its length.

Hey, Tom,

I used the LEN function and there are 25 characters, When I hit F2 the number is below the words. Almost as if someone hit enter after typing Phone.: enter than the number but all in the same cell. It's there but I can grab it, I have tried, text to column, delimited and fixed size, it just vanishes.
