Hi

I am using a pivot table to analyse data, but I have a problem when trying to cound individual items.

I want to find out how many different customers take a product - not just the total times customers have taken a product.

I only want 1 count per each customer.

Any ideas

Thanks

Rich

Excel Facts

Round to nearest half hour?
Use =MROUND(A2,"0:30") to round to nearest half hour. Use =CEILING(A2,"0:30") to round to next half hour.
Well I don't know if this is what you want but what I would do is put the customers in column fields section, Products in Row fields section and in and in the Data items section the count of amount, then make a column in the right (outside of pivote table) using the count formula so you can count how many different customers are buying each product, then you can hide some columns and just leave the Product column (the first from pivote table) and the count column (the one outside pivot table wich has the count formula).

I don't know if I was clear,
I hope this helps.
