Return last value

hoping to get some help on this, I am sure its quite easy I just can't see the forest for the tree's

in my very basic example below I would like a formula in cell B8 to return the last value it see's in column D (in this case 6). I cant use a max formula, since its not always sequential and I cannot sort it. The numbers that appear in row D constantly change and disappear as well, so the last one found in column D wont always be in the same spot. What is the easiest way to do this?

Thanks Jonmo, that worked in my basic example, but when I tried to but it in my real one it didnt work. Does the '307' have to change depending on the column/row? I am also wondering if perhaps its because in the real workbook its looking at formula's and not hard-keyed values.

No, don't change the number...
That's referred to as BigNum, the largest number a cell can hold.

It's Probably because of the formulas..
Post that formula please

thanks Jonmo, I was able to make it work by looking at a different column with the same data...it was the formula.
