I am having a problem.
I have a validated cell that I copy from one protected worksheet to another.
At the source, the cell's list validation works. Click on the cell and the little arrow shows.
However, at the target worksheet, the user can click on the cell (which is unlocked) but their is no little arrow. Checking the cell's properties indicates that there is cell validation in place.

Any idea why I don't have the list validation function?

I can type in the selected cell, and any invalid entry (according to the validation list) will trigger the error message. So the validation list is there, just no option for the drop down.

What does custom number format of ;;; mean?
Three semi-colons will hide the value in the cell. Although most people use white font instead.
Have you checked the cell's .Validation.InCellDropDown property?

If the cell works properly when True, what is its .Validation.Formula1 property?

If this is the worksheet data validation, did you check to see if the In-cell dropdown check box is unchecked?

Hi Guys,

According to the properties, "In-Cell Drop down" is checked in all instances, on both worksheets.

Like I mentioned, it works fine on the source worksheet, little arrow appears. But when the same cell is copied to the second worksheet, although selectable by the user, there is no arrow.

Is the reference to a range of cells or is it a named range?

Where is the reference? Is it on the source worksheet?

Yes, it is a named range. It refers to a range on a third worksheet.
Works fine on the source, and the validation works on the target to. Just no arrow. Type in something not part of the named range and you get an error.

Honestly Jenn I do not know what else to say.

Did you open a blank sheet and try again?

I hope somebody else will have some advice to offer...

Awww ... thanks for your help guys!!

Its a mystery to me as well ... it had worked, until I changed the destination cell. The original cell worked, but this one, not so much.

Oh well. I'll see if I can get it back to the way it was.

Stumped. Even after I (think) returned things back to the way they were when it worked, it no longer works.

What is odd ... is I can't get a drop down validation list to work anywhere on the destination sheet. I've been randomly placing list validation rules in this worksheet with no results in the form of a drop down arrow. The validation works, just no list to select from.
