I have an excel file with graphs on sheet 1 and the formulas for the graphs on sheet 2.
When I try to hide the formula's on sheet 2 the graphs on sheet 1 disappear.
Can anyone give me any pointers as to why.

Thanks,

Jimbo.

Excel Facts

Can a formula spear through sheets?
Use =SUM(January:December!E7) to sum E7 on all of the sheets from January through December
Go to Tools|Options|Chart and untick the "Plot visible cells only" box.

Don't you love it when something like this gets hidden somewhere really obscure!

Which version of Excel? Also, do you mean that the charts disappear, or that no data is visible? If it's the latter, and you are hiding the cells that contain the formulas, then that is the default behaviour but you can change it - we need to know the Excel version to give specific instructions though.

In 2007 the steps are:
1. Select the chart
2. On the Design tab, click the Select Data button, then click the 'Hidden and Empty cells' button on the dialog.
3. Check the 'show data in hidden rows and columns' option.

Right click on the chart, choose Select Data. Click the Hidden and Empty Cells button at the bottom left, and check Show Data in Hidden Rows and Columns.

Hi Jon,

I am unable to right click on the chart as it has disappeared. Some sheets are fine. Others, have disappeared.
