Dear Experts,

I don't know how relevent this question is to this forum, so if you can point me in another direction i would be grateful.

Anyway here goes, I have an excel spreadsheet which contains general data and in column C i want to insert a hyperlink that will take me to a photo. Now i know i can do this, the thing is i want to send the spreadsheet to a client and for them to click the hyperlink and see the photo. However, the hyperlink i use only links to the folder on my system.

Is there any way of creating a folder that is "Stand alone" i.e. does not link back to my system?
Or
Is the any good way of displaying photos in excel - (i want to minimise the size of the file i send).

If you guys have any ideas i would be very grateful

Many thanks

Hi,

You could create a folder (for example - D:\Photos) which contains all photos you want to send and the Excel workbook. Now you can hyperlink the photos from the folder in the workbook without it being system dependent. You just need to zip/rar the entire folder and send it.

Another option would be to embed the photos in the workbook.

The file size will depend on how many photos you have.

OR, if its possible you can create a shared network drive, save all photos in that and hyperlink the network drive in Excel... But you'll need to consult your sys admins to do this....
