Hi all,

Most of the time when I log onto MrExcel, it gives me the welcoming message and then on the next page I am logged out again. Or it might show that I am logged on, but as soon as I redirect to somewhere else on the site I am logged out again.
This does not happen EVERY time, but majority of the time though.

Can anyone let me know if I am doing something wrong or why I'm logged out everytime?

Thanx

Hi

You're checking the Remember Me checkbok when you log in? It may be that you have a corrupted cookie which isn't storing your details properly, so it would be worthwhile deleting all your temporary internet files and your cookies and then logging back in again (a new one will be created). Hopefully this will resolve your issue.

Hi RichardSchollar,

No, I don't check the "Remember me?" checkbox when logging in.
I deleted temporary files as well as cookies and still had to re-login about 3 times before I was able to reply to this thread.
Maybe something else is wrong?!

What browser are you using? Try googling CCleaner, great little program to clean cache/cookies.

OK thanx, I will do that in future, although it still seems a bit touch and go...Like this morning, I logged in, typed my reply, and when I clicked on "Submit Reply" it re-directed me to the "you're not logged on" page. When log on there, I get re-directed to the page which shows that my reply has already been posted...weird I say...:)

But thanx anyway!

Let's try something else: is your browser even *accepting* cookies? If it can't set a cookie, it can't keep you logged in. Make sure mrexcel.com is in your list of allowed sites.

@Von Pookie My Settings are saved on Medium, I wouldn't really want to set that setting to something less, cause that opens your computer up to other possible threats.
I tried to add mrexcel to my trusted sites list, but it said that the url must start with https and not just http???

You should be able to add regular 'http' sites to the list (assuming you're not on a work computer that has disallowed some things?)

Even here on my work PC there are http items in the 'trusted' list. Try adding it with a wildcard, for example: http://*.mrexcel.com

uncheck the box on the Trusted Sites interface. The box under the list that says "Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone"
