Can't Paste in a cell

I have a very advanced spreadsheet from someone else that I need to paste data into and it won't let me.

I know:
The sheet isn't protected under data--> protection
I can edit the cell and type in data
There is validation that I can erase and still can't paste
I can't ctrl-V, edit-->paste special, right click paste

Ten years of working in Excel and I can't seem to figure out what I'm sure is a simple something somewhere!

I hope you meant Ctrl +C(copy), not Ctrl +V (paste), 'cuz you have to copy before you paste. :smile:

is there a macro that is controlling the paste to cells and/or sheet?

Yes after copying :). There is a laundry list of macros. Any idea what type of coding I should be looking for in the VB code that would make you unable to copy paste into cells?

The code for disabling the cut, copy and paste keyboard shortcuts is

Code: 
Application.OnKey "^{c}", "" 'Copy
Application.OnKey "^{v}", "" 'Paste
Application.OnKey "^{x}", "" 'Cut

but I guess there might be other ways.

Thank you for the fast response. I continue to be amazed at these boards and all of you amazing, helpful people!

Unfortunately, I was unable to locate any code that looked like that. Inefficiency here I come...!
