Disabling private messaging?

I read the FAQ board and this board, but couldn't find anything related to why an admin would disable private messaging. Can a moderator please let me know privately why I specifically have private messaging disabled? Thank you.

Read the announcement at the top of each forum. PMing is down for everyone.

We upgrade our forums on a consistent basis, they are constantly evolving, so from time to time we have to temporarily tweak functionality in order to grow.

This is one of those cases, we simply need to disable this for 72 hours or so. It's just a matter of providing everyone the best Excel forums on Earth, or that's the goal.

I was just searching for why there was no PM'ing on the board.

Maybe I should get my eyes tested!!

Or maybe you could just make the announcement flash or maybe play a song.
