Grey Screen of death

Well, not death but sometimes when I am using an excel worksheet, I get a grey / sometimes blue panel that covers the left hand side of the screen - approximately 25 percent of the screen is overlayed with this panel.

This happened yesterday when my VP was demoing an application I developed to a SVP. So, if anyone knows how to prevent this "Feature" could you please let me know asap? I am going on a two week vacation in 2 days, and I need this app production ready by Friday

As usual, I appreciate all of your assistance, this board is a great forum and I try to support it by buying all of the books on the web portal. Come up with some new books, and I will buy them

Thanks

Don

What did Pito Salas invent?
Pito Salas, working for Lotus, popularized what would become to be pivot tables. It was released as Lotus Improv in 1989.
I don't know a way of preventing it (and if anyone can find one then God love you!) but I know a way of getting rid of it once its happened.

You need to drag a Toolbar over to the bottom left hand corner of the screen.

Actually since I dragged one over and left it their the problems have ceased so maybe thats the answer :-P
