Thanks,

Excel Facts

Copy PDF to Excel
Select data in PDF. Paste to Microsoft Word. Copy from Word and paste to Excel.
As I understand there's only 2008 and if you use VBA you don't want to upgrade as there is zero VBA support in 2008... the next release should do I believe.

You mean in 2008 I cannot use VBA? That's not good.
When is the next release going to be?
Or do you think I should get 2007?

I want to upgrade because the 2004 version macros does not work with newer versions. Many people use my excel experienced this. Either that or the formula/VBA has to structured properly for it to work in new and old excel. I don't know how to do it.

Re: next Mac release - don't know - presumably sometime after the 2010 official release for the PC (ie 2003/2004, 2007/2008, 2010/2011 ?)

I'm not a Mac user - few here are - increasingly people seem to be running PC Office Suite on the Mac and using 2007 etc...

You might get more info. on a Mac specific forum I guess - unless anyone else can chip in ?

Regards regression issues - most VBA functionality in earlier versions should run on 2007 without issue - there are a few notable exceptions like FileSearch etc... and function wise I don't think there should be any issues
(other than perhaps a double unary / volatile bug in 2007 Arrays/Sumproduct)

Thanks for sharing the link Pedro, it sounds as though Mac 2011 VBA will be based on VB6 ? (Prior versions [2008 excepted] based on VB5 I think ?)

Hi Luke. Yes, that's also what I understood, the MAC office is finally getting a vba based on vb6. If I'm not mistaken, the windows office vba is based on vb6 since office 2000, so it was time to catch-up.

Yea, absolutely no macros in 2008 for mac. Very few keyboard shortcuts as well. I ended up using a Open Office for my macro sheets.
