Hi all,

I have recently installed MS Office 2007. Excel itself is running fine, however when I double-click on an Excel file, Excel opens but the file does not. Therefore I have to go to File>Open etc within Excel.

None of the other MS Office applications (Word, PowerPoint etc) do this. I've had a look at my settings and there's nothing obvious I can see.

It's more annoying than anything else. Any help you could give me would be great.

Hi

First place to check is Office button>ExcelOptions>Advanced>scroll down until General section and make sure "Ignore other applications that use DDE" is unchecked.

Also check to see if you have any add-ins in one of your XLSTART folders (particularly PDFMaker.xla). If you do, try removing them.

I have the same problem with Office for XP - I don't know where the Office button is that you are talking about. Did you every get yours to work?

Hi

No Office button in xl2002 (thankfully) - the place to check here is in Tools>Options>General tab and uncheck "Ignore other applications" :-D
