Field that retrieves the MAX value from a column in a Seperate Table

Here is what I did =DMax([PID_SEQUENCE],[Sequence Number]) which isn't working.

The Table name is PID_SEQUENCE
The Field/Column name is Sequence Number

I put the above formula in the Control Source

It looks like you have your arguments (table and field name) backwards.

You have put this in the Control Source of what, exactly?
Are you doing this in a Query, Form, or Report?

In a separate form, I want to know what the max number (aka number of records) in the referenced table.

The format would be:

[COLOR=#333333]=DMax("Sequence Number","PID_SEQUENCE")
[/COLOR]

Note that will give you the highest Sequence Number in the table.

If you want to count the number of records in a table, you can use DCOUNT: https://www.techonthenet.com/access/functions/domain/dcount.php
