Hi All,
How can I batch-hyperlink partial file names to the files themselves?
In other words, my column B contains the file number, column C contains the file name, and column D the date.
However the actual file name consists of the file number, file name, and date (the date is not the same format as in column D).
I'd like the hyperlink to appear on the file number (col. B).
I viewed similar responses, but not regarding hyperlinking using only a part of the file name.
The files are pdf, and am using Excel 2010.
Thank you so much.

You will need to use a VBA procedure to put the hyperlinks in the correct column.
You can use the Dir function to search for files based on wildcards (* and ?)

Thanks.
I was kind of hoping someone would be kind enough to provide the appropriate VBA code, since I didn't yet learn how to write VBA procedures.

Sorry about cross-posting. When I did it I didn't think it was against the rules, had no idea at all.
I apologize.
And happy holidays.
