Radar Chart Ring Color

I would like to know how to color the rings of a radar chart, specifically only the outer one. I've seen a few postings on making these charts look like a target but have not been able to apply.

I'm using the data set found at:

I am looking to have the outer ring, the 8000-10000 band, to be a certain color. Is there a relatively simple way to do this?

For 2007,

You should be able to right click on the ring, and then choose format data series.

Then click on the Line Color submenu.

Then click on the Solid Fill

Then click on the color you want.

Format data series would work if this outer ring had the data, but there is little to no data in this ring. So the ring itself does not seem to be selectable.

Hello again.

I don't think you can color an individual range like you are thinking about.

However, you can trick excel to do this:

One way is to just highlight an inner ring and outer ring in red and that makes up your range. Like this:

Alternately, you can also add one more series that is in the middle of your range and then expand that line style to a really large point to fill the radar range like this:
