unique formula

Hi Guys

This one is simple for uuu....

I have a Column which contains material codes....... now these codes repeat a lot..... so i need to know only unique codes in next colmn........ i dont wana use advanced filter option or macro...... can neone suggest some formula for this.....

in summary i need to get formula to get unique records in column B from repeating values in Column A

please help....

thx for the help on this topic over last time......

But can someone really help me in one advanced thing....

I need a formula which gives me unique records and that tooo after sorting ie..... all blanks need to appear in bottom...... if some can help i wd be really gr8full.... else i have to use a very long route... please help....

Both systems eliminates the empty cells or rather sinks them at the bottom of the unique list. Did you try them out? No, I guess you mean these are very long routes and you want a single formula that does all in one go in a column, right?

Unless I'm missing something - wouldn't be the 1st time - with codes in column A would this in column B do --

=IF(COUNTIF($A$1:$A1,A1)=1,A1,"")

Sort on column B
