Private Messages - Outbox

I have a Private Message that has been sitting in my Outbox for well over 24 hours. Do PMs stay in the Outbox until the recipient opens it?

Yeah, I think they do, or at least until the recipient logs in again, anyway.

Actually, when I looked into my Outbox, there were two other PMs that had been there for months. I assume that either they were not flagged to the recipient (the recipient gets an auto email notification), or the recipient simply ignored the email notification or a virus scan dumped them as junk mail. Anyway, I deleted them.
