Server performance and bandwidth

I am curious about a couple of things regarding Mr. Excel and the seemingly slower performance of this board as of late. Especially in regards to searches.

What kind of hosting is being provided?
What is the average bandwidth usage?
What the server using for hardware?
Is there a donation pool or kitty to help cover the costs of operations?
If not, should there be? I am thinking on the lines of Public Broadcasting Corp type funding. Annoying but not required.

From memory, I think the annual costs of running this board is pretty stiff and it would take a heck of a lot more money to improve the response times.
