i have like 5 excel files, then i need to convert to csv extension. I save as .csv but besides export to .csv and it automatically add comma (when you open on notepad) , i need at the same time put doble quotes, theres a way to put double quotes ?

for example in excel i have

as fd gt vf
 rt ed fv dsd

and when excel convert to .csv and you open in notepad it looks like:

as, fd, gt, vf,
rt, ed, fv, dsd

i need that at the same time he put double quotes "
for example
"as", "fd", "gt", "vf"
"rt", "ed", "fv", "dsd"

there's a way to do that, because it a huge work put it one by one.

Excel Facts

Links? Where??
If Excel says you have links but you can't find them, go to Formulas, Name Manager. Look for old links to dead workbooks & delete.
OK quickest wayI can think of:

1. Apply a custom format to your entire sheet (select cells and go Format>Cells>Number Tab. Click on Custom and in the type box type:

Code:
\"@\"

Click OK.

2. Save the workbook as CSV.
3. Open up in Notepad - you should notice that all the values have 3 double quotes preceding and following them ie:

rtf becomes """rtf"""
4. Select all your text in Notepad and do an Edit>Replace (ie Ctrl+H) and Find What: """ and Replace With: "
5.Save down file

Hey presto! It's done.

Numbers shouldn't be quoted, or else the import system is likely to treat them as text. That will cause problems down the line.

I'm in a situation where the CSV file created from an Excel file MUST have quotes around numbers. The CSV will not be used in Excel but in another application on the Web that requires quotes around all fields.

I have yet to find a way to make, for example, an address:
1234 Any Street
show up in the CSV as:
"1234 Any Street"

It appears to me that if a number is at the start of a field, there will be no quotes around that field in the resulting CSV file.

Help? :)
Thanks!
