Regards.

Private Sub Workbook_SheetActivate(ByVal Sh As Object)
Range("A2").FormulaR1C1 = ActiveSheet.Name
End Sub

Hi yaeourt:

For a formula based solution ...

=MID(CELL("filename",A1),FIND("]",CELL("filename",A1))+1,255)
