Extra blank workbook when opening file

Maybe you have something in the Workbook_Open event procedure.

How would I know that? I don't know what the workbook/open procedure is...

Open your workbook and press Alt+F11 to go to the Visual Basic Editor. If necessary click the + next to your workbook in the Project window to expand it, and do the same with Microsoft Excel Objects. Double click ThisWorkbook and look in the window on the right. Anything there?

Not necessarily. How are you opening the workbook and what's its name?

I go through START/PROGAMS/MICROSOFT EXCEL and then file/open...the document is named RJCT1005.

I do notice that when I open it up and look in the top left corner, it says the name is "RJCT1005:1"

Now you are talking. Choose Window|RJCT1005:2 and close it with the X at the right of the Menu Bar. Save your workbook and you won't have 2 windows when you open it again.
