How do I disable Help in Excel. I'm creating an Excel Test and want to disable Help.

Excel Facts

What did Pito Salas invent?
Pito Salas, working for Lotus, popularized what would become to be pivot tables. It was released as Lotus Improv in 1989.
Maybe these will help?

Simulating Disabling a Built-in Menu Command
You can't actually disable the built in menus, but you can make them THINK they are (on second thought, maybe this should go in the pranks thread  )

Disable all keys on the keyboard
Maybe you could have this run on workbook open, and just set it up so they enter all of their answers by mouse?

Just some ideas I found while searching for "disable help." Some days, the knowledge base is great :)

Thanks, Von Pookie.

I already tried searching the board using "Disable Help" but all I got was a blank screen and then I tried it again and got an error message (the error came from the board). So, I figured the Search was not working today and decided to ask.

But thanks for the tip anyway! :D

Also, thanks for your help.

I got an error message here as well, but I did my search on the knowledge base first. Basically since I know the board's search function is still acting loopy :)

Why not just disable the F1 key in a Workbook_Open or Auto_Open event, with the code line
Application.OnKey "{F1}", ""

and restore it at Close with
Application.OnKey "{F1}"

and regarding the Help menu item, try something like this, also at open and close as you prefer, or in the worksheet module depending on what you're trying to control:

On Error Resume Next
CommandBars("Worksheet Menu Bar").Controls("Help").Enabled = True 'False
